Delhi’s Legislative Assembly election was completed on 6 February 2020. This election was voted for a total of 70 Vidhan Sabha seats in Delhi. The direct fight in these 70 seats was between the Aam Aadmi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Aam Aadmi Party fielded candidates for 70 seats in Delhi. Whereas BJP fielded candidates for 68 seats and allied party JDU candidates for remaining 2 seats.
The Aam Aadmi Party put more emphasis on electricity, water, health, bus travel, schools, education etc. in Delhi, while the BJP fought the entire election only in the name of Shaheen Bagh. The Aam Party carried out a full campaign under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, on the other hand, the BJP made its campaign directionless by not presenting anyone as the chief ministerial candidate. The public of Delhi did not consider it appropriate to vote for the BJP without realizing the candidate for the post of Chief Minister. According to the survey of Aaj Tak news channel, the backward class, Dalit class, Sikh and Muslim voters voted outright to the Aam Aadmi Party. Whereas the BJP voted for its traditional voters. The other big thing is that most of the traditional voters of BJP did not exercise their voting rights, because in front of them BJP did not show any candidate for Chief Minister. The Aam Aadmi Party got its direct benefit. In Delhi’s election ground, Arvind Kejriwal described himself as the only one local leader of Delhi and was successful in calling all other opposition parties as outsiders.
After the elections are over, all the news channels showed exit polls, in which the channel is being told that the Aam Aadmi Party is forming the government with absolute majority. According to these exit polls, the Aam Aadmi Party is shown winning on an average of 62 seats. BJP has been expected to win 4 to 5 seats.
The counting of votes will start from 8 am on 11 February. Initial trends will start coming by 9 o’clock. All the 70 assembly results will have been announced by 12 noon.
There is every hope of the Aam Aadmi Party winning 62 seats in Delhi.
