The roots of politics in India are very old. Political activities in
India started in Bengal and Maharashtra. Many politicians sacrificed
their lives in getting India independence from the British. The Congress
party played the biggest role in getting India free from the British.
Mahatma Gandhi and the Congress fought against the British rule for
independence through non-violent activities for a long time. India
eventually gained independence as a result of the Congress’s 52-year
struggle against British rule.
It has been more than 70 years since
India’s independence. Even today, there are many famous politicians in
India who were born during the British rule.
