In Bollywood, many films are made that chronicle the whole life story of a famous person. Such films are called biographical films. In India, films have been made on many famous people. • Bandit Queen, 1994 (Cast - Seema Biswa, Manoj Bajpayee, Nirmal Pandey) - Based on biography of Fulan Devi, a bandit in Chambal.

• Sardar Udham, 2021 (Cast - Vickey Kaushal, Banita Sandhu, Amol Parashar, Kristy Averton) - Based on biography of Udham Singh, a revolutionary of the Indian freedom movement.
• Shershaah, 2021 (Cast - Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani) - Based on biography of Captain Vikram Batra, who was martyred during the Kargil War on 7 July 1999.
• Major, 2022 (Cast - Adivi Sesh, Prakash Raj, Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar) - Based on biography of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan who was martyred on 28 November 2008 while rescuing civilians in 26/11/2008 terror attack in Mumba.
• Amaran, 2024 (Cast - Sivakarthikeyan, Sai Pallavi, Rahul Bose and Bhuvan Arora ) - Based on biography of  Major Mukund Varadarajan. Major Mukund Varadarajan killed terrorists during an encounter with them during a military operation in Jammu and Kashmir on 25 April 2014, but he himself was martyred during this. Major Mukund Varadarajan was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his bravery.
  
• Phule, 2025 (Cast - Pratik Gandhi, Patralekha) - This film is based on the biography of Mahamana Jyotiba Phule and his wife Savitribai Phule. Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule opened the first school in the country for girls from Dalit and backward communities. The Phule couple struggled throughout their lives to end the practice of caste-based discrimination prevalent in Hindu society and paved the way for Dalits and backward people to live a respectable life in society.
