Next Assembly Election in 2021-2022-2023 in India

In India, Assembly elections are scheduled every year in some or the other state. Every state has its assembly, whose members are elected by the local people of the state. General elections to the state assembly are held every five years. The elections of Delhi and Mumbai Corporation along with the Legislative Assembly of the states are also not less that of any assembly election. The Election Commission determines the date for all these. As per the current tenure, the next elections to the Legislative Assembly of the following states and the Corporation of Delhi and Mumbai are scheduled in 2021, 2022 and 2023 as follows –

  • Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Mumbai – March 2022 (Total Seats – 227, Present Mayor – Kishori Pednekar, Shivsena)
  • Delhi Municipal Corporation – April 2022
  • Gujarat – November / December 2022 (Total Seats – 182, Present CM – Vijay Rupani, BJP)
  • Himachal Pradesh – November / December 2022 (Total Seats – 68, Present CM – Jai Ram Thakur, BJP)
  • Tripura – February 2023 (Total Seats – 60, Present CM – Biplav Kumar Dev, BJP)
  • Meghalaya – February 2023 (Total Seats – 60, Present CM – Conrad Sangma, NPP)
