Shree Vaishno Devi temple is very important Hindu temple. Every Hindu religious should go Shree Vaishno Devi temple at Katra, District Jammu.
If you want go Vaishno Devi temple then you have to go Katra which is 45 km far from Jammu in J&K state. There is railway station in Katra which is connected with Jammu. You can go Katra by train from Jammu railway Station. The fair of general tickets from Jammu to Katra is Rs.20/- only. You can travel directly from New Delhi to Katra by Shri Shakti Express or Vande Bharat Express or any other train which runs daily from New Delhi.

You can also go to Katra from Jammu by bus or taxi. Buses and taxis are available for Katra at Jammu railway station and bus stand. The bus fare from Jammu to Katra is Rs 40 to Rs 60 per seat. You can book any taxi from Jammu to Katra for Rs 1000. The distance from Jammu to Katra is about 45 km. After reaching Katra you can stay in Dharamshala or hotels. There are about 500 hotels in Katra around Katra bus stand. Rooms in hotels are available from Rs 400/- to Rs 2000/- per night. Beds in dormitory Dharamshala are available from Rs 100/- to Rs 110/- per night. Dormitory Dharamshala is in Niharika complex, near Katra bus stand. These Dharamshalas are managed by Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. Dharamshalas are very clean. And every Dharamshala has locker facility in which you can keep your heavy bags and luggage before starting your journey to Vaishno Devi Temple. Katra is the base to start the journey to Vaishno Devi Temple. There is no hotel or lodge in Vaishno Devi Temple. So, don’t plan to stay in Vaishno Devi Temple. All the hotels are in Katra itself. Vaishno Devi Temple is situated on a mountain. You have to prepare yourself for a 11 km long trek from Katra to Vaishno Devi Temple. Before starting the “Yatra” to Vaishno Devi Temple, you have to take a “Yatra Parchi” from Katra. This “Yatra Parchi” is available near the bus stand, Katra. It is free of cost and there is no need to submit any document to get this “Yatra Parchi”. This “Yatra Parchi” is valid till 6 hours before starting your journey. The “Yatra Parchi” is available from 5 AM to 10 PM. After taking the “Yatra Parchi” you can start your journey to Vaishno Devi temple on foot or by horses or “Palki”. Thousands of horses are available in Katra to lift you up to half way to Vaishno Devi temple. All the horses go up to “Ardh Kunwari” which is located half way to Vaishno Devi temple. After reaching “Ardh Kunwari” you can take another horse to Vaishno Devi temple. For half way but Palki service is available for Rs. 3000/- to Rs. 4000/-. Nowadays a new route has been made to reach Vaishno Devi temple from Katra which is about 8 km long. Helicopter/Chopper service is available from Katra to the mountain peak of Vaishno Devi temple. The fare for one way helicopter service is Rs. 1040/- per seat. You can book helicopter tickets from Niharika Complex near Katra Bus Stand. You can also book helicopter tickets online. Helicopters are available at Katra every 5 minutes from 8 am to 7 pm.
The path to Shri Vaishno Devi Temple goes continuously upwards. There are thousands of shops selling water, cold drinks, juices, fruits, dry fruits, tea-coffee, breakfast, lunch, medical, body massage etc. on the way to Vaishno Devi Temple. If you travel on foot then you can complete your journey in 5 or 6 hours. The whole path is covered with iron grills, so there is no fear of falling into a deep gorge. After reaching Shri Vaishno Devi Temple, take Prasadam from the Prasadam Center. Prasadam is available in packets of Rs.40/-, Rs.25/- and Rs.10/-. After that, refresh yourself in the toilet. After refreshing, you can enter the main building for worship from the entrance. There are three places for "darshan" of Mata Vaishno Devi in ​​the temple complex. The first is the idol of Goddess Durga. The second is a cave. And the third place is located in a long cave which is the most important. After visiting all the three places you can come out from the exit gate. While exiting you will get prasad from the temple. Vaishno Devi temple has a restaurant for breakfast and lunch. There is a big hall in the temple complex, where you can rest for the night. Bhairon Baba temple is four kilometers away from Vaishno Devi temple. This temple is also very important. Many devotees visit Bhairon Baba temple after worshiping at Shri Vaishno Devi temple. You can come back directly from Vaishno Devi temple or from Bhairon Baba temple. Restaurants and hotels provide 24 hours services for the customers. You will never feel alone in Katra. Law and order is good in Katra. Katra has a big market and everything is available in this market.

श्री वैष्णो देवी मंदिर बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण हिंदू मंदिर है। हर हिंदू धार्मिक व्यक्ति को जम्मू जिले के कटरा में स्थित श्री वैष्णो देवी मंदिर जाना चाहिए। यदि आप वैष्णो देवी मंदिर जाना चाहते हैं तो आपको कटरा जाना होगा जो जम्मू और कश्मीर राज्य में जम्मू से 45 किलोमीटर दूर है। कटरा में रेलवे स्टेशन है जो जम्मू से जुड़ा हुआ है। आप जम्मू रेलवे स्टेशन से ट्रेन द्वारा कटरा जा सकते हैं। जम्मू से कटरा के लिए सामान्य टिकटों का किराया केवल 20 रुपये है। आप नई दिल्ली से कटरा के लिए श्री शक्ति एक्सप्रेस या वन्दे भारत एक्सप्रेस या किसी अन्य ट्रेन के द्वारा सीधे जा सकते हैं जो नई दिल्ली से प्रतिदिन चलती है। 

आप जम्मू से बस या टैक्सी द्वारा भी कटरा जा सकते हैं। जम्मू रेलवे स्टेशन और बस स्टैंड पर कटरा के लिए बसें और टैक्सियाँ उपलब्ध हैं। जम्मू से कटरा के लिए बस का किराया 40 से 60 रुपये प्रति सीट है। आप जम्मू से कटरा के लिए कोई भी टैक्सी 1000 रुपये में बुक कर सकते हैं। जम्मू से कटरा की दूरी लगभग 45 किलोमीटर है। कटरा पहुँचने के बाद आप धर्मशाला या होटलों में रुक सकते हैं। कटरा बस स्टैंड के आसपास कटरा में लगभग 500 होटल हैं। होटलों में कमरे 400/- से 2000/- रुपये प्रति रात में उपलब्ध हैं। डॉरमेट्री धर्मशाला में बिस्तर 100/- से 110/- रुपये प्रति रात पर उपलब्ध हैं। डॉरमेट्री धर्मशाला निहारिका परिसर में, कटरा बस स्टैंड के पास है। इन धर्मशालाओं का प्रबंधन वैष्णो देवी श्राइन बोर्ड द्वारा किया जाता है। धर्मशालाएँ बहुत साफ-सुथरी हैं। और हर धर्मशाला में लॉकर की सुविधा है जिसमें आप वैष्णो देवी मंदिर की यात्रा शुरू करने से पहले अपने भारी बैग और सामान रख सकते हैं। वैष्णो देवी मंदिर की यात्रा शुरू करने के लिए कटरा आधार है। वैष्णो देवी मंदिर में कोई होटल या लॉज नहीं है। इसलिए, वैष्णो देवी मंदिर में रहने की योजना न बनाएँ। सभी होटल कटरा में ही हैं। वैष्णो देवी मंदिर एक पहाड़ पर स्थित है। आपको कटरा से वैष्णो देवी मंदिर तक 11 किमी लंबी पैदल यात्रा के लिए खुद को तैयार करना होगा। वैष्णो देवी मंदिर के लिए “यात्रा” शुरू करने से पहले, आपको कटरा से “यात्रा पर्ची” लेनी होगी। यह “यात्रा पर्ची” बस स्टैंड, कटरा के पास उपलब्ध है। यह निःशुल्क है और इस “यात्रा पर्ची” को लेने के लिए कोई दस्तावेज जमा करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है। यह “यात्रा पर्ची” आपकी यात्रा शुरू करने से 6 घंटे पहले तक वैध होती है। “यात्रा पर्ची” सुबह 5 बजे से रात 10 बजे तक उपलब्ध होती है। “यात्रा पर्ची” लेने के बाद आप पैदल या घोड़ों या “पालकी” से वैष्णो देवी मंदिर की अपनी यात्रा शुरू कर सकते हैं। वैष्णो देवी मंदिर के आधे रास्ते तक आपको उठाने के लिए कटरा में हजारों घोड़े उपलब्ध हैं। सभी घोड़े “अर्ध कुंवारी” तक जाते हैं जो वैष्णो देवी मंदिर के आधे रास्ते में स्थित है। “अर्ध कुंवारी” पहुंचने के बाद आप वैष्णो देवी मंदिर के लिए एक और घोड़ा ले सकते हैं। आधे रास्ते के लिए लेकिन पालकी सेवा 3000/- से 4000/- रुपये में उपलब्ध है। आजकल कटरा से वैष्णों देवी मन्दिर तक जाने के लिए नया रास्ता  बनाया गया है जो करीं 8 किलोमीटर लम्बा है। कटरा से वैष्णो देवी मंदिर के पर्वत शिखर तक हेलिकॉप्टर/हेलीकॉप्टर सेवा उपलब्ध है। एक तरफ की हेलिकॉप्टर सेवा का किराया 1040/- रुपये प्रति सीट है। आप कटरा बस स्टैंड के पास निहारिका कॉम्प्लेक्स से हेलिकॉप्टर की टिकट बुक कर सकते हैं। आप हेलिकॉप्टर की टिकट ऑनलाइन भी बुक कर सकते हैं। कटरा में सुबह 8 बजे से शाम 7 बजे तक हर 5 मिनट पर हेलिकॉप्टर उपलब्ध रहते हैं।
श्री वैष्णो देवी मंदिर का रास्ता लगातार ऊपर की ओर जाता है। वैष्णो देवी मंदिर के रास्ते में पानी, कोल्ड ड्रिंक्स, जूस, फल, ड्राई फ्रूट्स, चाय-कॉफी, नाश्ता, दोपहर का भोजन, मेडिकल, बॉडी मसाज आदि की हजारों दुकानें हैं। अगर आप पैदल यात्रा करते हैं तो आप अपनी यात्रा 5 या 6 घंटे में पूरी कर सकते हैं पूरा रास्ता लोहे की ग्रिल से भरा हुआ है, इसलिए गहरी खाई में गिरने का डर नहीं है। श्री वैष्णो देवी मंदिर पहुंचने के बाद, प्रसादम केंद्र से प्रसाद लें। प्रसादम 40/- रुपये, 25/- रुपये और 10/- रुपये के पैकेट में उपलब्ध हैं। उसके बाद, शौचालय में खुद को तरोताजा करें। तरोताजा होने के बाद, आप प्रवेश द्वार से पूजा के लिए मुख्य भवन में प्रवेश कर सकते हैं। मंदिर परिसर में माता वैष्णो देवी के "दर्शन" के लिए तीन स्थान हैं। पहला देवी दुर्गा की मूर्ति है। दूसरा एक गुफा है। और तीसरा स्थान एक लंबी गुफा में स्थित है जो सबसे महत्वपूर्ण है। तीनों स्थानों पर दर्शन के बाद आप निकास द्वार से बाहर आ सकते हैं। बाहर निकलने के दौरान आपको मंदिर से प्रसाद मिलेगा। वैष्णो देवी मंदिर में नाश्ते और दोपहर के भोजन के लिए एक रेस्तरां है। मंदिर परिसर में एक बड़ा हॉल है, जहाँ आप रात के लिए आराम कर सकते हैं। वैष्णो देवी मंदिर से भैरों बाबा मंदिर चार किलोमीटर दूर है। यह मंदिर भी बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है। कई भक्त श्री वैष्णो देवी मंदिर में पूजा करने के बाद भैरों बाबा के मंदिर जाते हैं। आप वैष्णो देवी मंदिर से सीधे या भैरों बाबा मंदिर से वापस आ सकते हैं। रेस्तराँ और होटल ग्राहकों के लिए 24 घंटे सेवाएँ प्रदान करते हैं। कटरा में आप कभी भी अकेले महसूस नहीं करेंगे। कटरा में कानून और व्यवस्था अच्छी है। कटरा एक बड़ा बाज़ार है और इस बाज़ार में हर चीज़ उपलब्ध है।
